Hello my dearest readers! I’m so sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve last written. This little thing called life has been pulling me in so many different directions lately, with family things, vacations and wedding stuff. I think it’s always amazing to take a little time though, because sometimes we are all so plugged into our screens. It’s a tad freeing to have a break to be honest.
Today I’m here to talk to you all about one of my favorite topics: tablescapes! They are so fun and make me wish that we had a dining room that wasn’t also out every day kitchen table. I’m not going to lie to you all, but sometimes my tablescapes are a bit much for the every day table. But that’s what makes them so much fun! Getting to piece the table together with making it look bountiful and inviting. This Fall I’ve decided to incorporate greenery and pumpkins together, and finishing them off with a bit of buffalo check plaid.
Sometimes I will do some simple decor pieces, and most the time I do have a simple tablescape on our dining table. You tend to see my tablescapes where I have a little more fun.
So the question might be, where do I start? Well first, I always choose my base look. Whether thats the bare table, a table runner, or a tablecloth. Yes sometimes I find things like a few pumpkins that I know I want to add, but I like to start from the bottom up. For this particular tablescape I saw this circular buffalo check tablecloth, and I loved it! I didn’t exactly want to do a full tablecloth, but wanted something more than a runner. Once I saw the circular tablecloth, I knew that was it.
I then added in the candles to give the tablescape some height, and filled in the garland around those. I added in two sets of garland for this one, and then start plopping the pumpkins in a random (but organized) order!
After the pumpkins I actually added in little stems of eucalyptus and lamb’s ear, which made the garland look a little fuller than with just the two strands of garland. With topping it off with a few more pumpkins, it made it perfect! the next thing on the list was the addition of the charges and plates.
I like to mix up the chargers versus always using the same ones throughout the full setting. I love getting my chargers from Home Goods to be more cost efficient, but I had to get these from Pier 1 because I had to have them! They are my favorite, but a tad bit more than I usually spend. I did buy these ones a few years back though, so I’d say I got my money out of them.
Next on the list, which I’ve mentioned in previous posts, are the top plates. I really would love to mix these up all the time, but that would get real expensive real quick. So for these plates I typically stay with my neutrals so I can use them in a lot of my tablescapes. Then I found these cute tan and white striped napkins to top off the display with some white pumpkins from Home Goods.
Overall I was so happy with this tablescape! It turned out so full and beautiful!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and I’m so excited to continue to show you more! I’m hoping to get back into weekly blogging as soon as our Fall trips and weddings are over in October!
